On November 15 Girl Scout Junior Troop 2229 laid a wreath at George Washington’s tomb at Mount Vernon. The girls designed the ceremony themselves, choosing to read a poem, sing a patriotic song, conduct a flag ceremony & lay the wreath. The girls made the wreath using only natural elements -- dried flowers, fall leaves and wood medallions made from fallen branches. After the ceremony, the girls spent the afternoon exploring the grounds and buildings of Mount Vernon.
